2017 Pony Races

The pony races will kick off at 4:30 immediately following the NSA races! Designed to showcase and celebrate the region’s youngest equestrians, the Bluegrass Farm Pony Challenge is sure to stimulate interest and enthusiasm from a young demographic. Children must be ages 8-16, ponies 14.2 hands or under and sponsored by a local farm. All riders are required to race with a neckstrap, racing overgirth, safety vest and ASTM/SEI helmet. The two races, one flat and one jumping, will be 4 furlongs run on the track.

We would be delighted for your young equestrian members to participate in this special opportunity. Young riders are welcome to secure their own sponsor for the event and sign up by completing the attached form. The price for sponsoring a rider in this exciting event is $500 per pony. Riders must be sponsored by a local farm. If you do not have a sponsor you will be put on a waiting list and assigned to a sponsoring farm if available.

All proceeds benefit High Hope’s two charitable beneficiaries: Central Kentucky Riding for Hope and the Kentucky Horse Park Foundation.

If you are interested in sponsoring a rider, please return the Rider Sponsor form or contact the High Hope Steeplechase office at your earliest convenience. We anticipate that spots in the race will fill quickly so please respond soon to ensure your reservation.
